The Charted by the Wanderer License allows independent creators to publish and distribute content using our roleplaying systems. If you’re unsure whether you’re adhering to the terms of this license, please reach out to us at info@wanderers-tome.com—we’d love to discuss it with you!

If you create something using our license, do reach out as we’d love to see it! However, please note that this license does not and will never permit the creation of NFTs or cryptocurrency tokens based on our games or artwork. Additionally, we strictly prohibit the use of our games in publications that feature AI-generated art.

License for Published Games: Flabbergasted! and Deadline – A Clockwork Press

By using this license, you agree to the following terms:

1. What You Can Do

  • Create and distribute fan supplements, hacks, and modules that are compatible with our core games and/or expand upon their settings.

  • Publish and sell your work in digital or physical formats, provided you comply with this license.

  • Reference and incorporate mechanics, rules, terminology, and necessary elements from our games to make your content compatible.

  • Use and translate character sheets and other supplementary sheets for your game.

  • Live stream, podcast, produce actual plays, create written or video reviews, and otherwise engage with our games online and in public.

    • If you are streaming or creating online content, you may use our press kit for images. Visit our press page for more information and to access our press kits. Our art and images may only be used for this purpose.


2. What You Cannot Do

  • Use or translate our game writing or artwork (except for character and supplementary sheets) without our explicit permission.

  • Use our company or game logos.

  • Claim ownership of our games, present them as your own, or suggest your work is an official or licensed version unless we have provided written permission.

  • Create content that promotes hate, discrimination, harmful behaviour, or anything that could bring our games or company into disrepute.

3. Branding & Attribution

  • You must include this text in your work:
    “[Product Name] is an independent production by [Author or Publisher] and is not affiliated with The Wanderer’s Tome or Fleur & Chelsea Sciortino. This work is Charted by the Wanderer under their community license.”

  • You must also include the below text depending on the game:

  • “Flabbergasted! is the property of The Wanderer’s Tome. For more information, visit wanderers-tome.com.”

  • “Deadline – A Clockwork Press is the property of The Wanderer’s Tome. For more information, visit wanderers-tome.com.”

  • All text must be provided in English and any other language(s) in which your product is distributed.

  • You must include the appropriate Charted by the Wanderer logo in your work (available here).

  • The logo may be resized or recoloured as needed but must not be substantially altered.

4. Intellectual Property & Ownership

  • Any original content you create remains your property.

  • Our game systems, mechanics, and settings remain the property of The Wanderer’s Tome.

  • By publishing under this license, you grant The Wanderer’s Tome permission to promote your work in community showcases and publications (with proper credit).

5. Revocation & Changes

  • This license may be updated to reflect community needs. The most current version will always be available at wanderers-tome.com/license.

  • The Wanderer’s Tome reserves the right to revoke this license from individuals or projects that violate these terms.
